Like many on this forum I decided to make my own stir plate instead of purchasing one. I had everything laying around except for the potentiometer and it only cost $1.59. So far it works well and here is a link to a video of it in action. I should be making yeast starters real soon. The stir bar in nothing but a couple of screws tape together with electrical tape. I will order a real stir bar soon.
