    Anvil Foundry users: Any here?

Just purchased this system on Sunday ...waiting for its arrival. I've planned a Kolsch and an Alt as the first two brew sessions. Looking forward to learning a new systems since I haven't really changed any of by brewhouse practices in 10+ years.

Legal issues for business plan, advice needed

Hey all, I suspect that this issue has been discussed, so please feel free to include a link or an idea for some search language. I am considering putting together a business plan related to craft brewing. I am not interested in a full scale brewhouse, but I will need to locate some...

    carafa special I/II/III

Use them to obtain color and some roasty notes, but they do not impart the bitter astringency of roast barley. This is due to the fact that the husks have been removed from the grain. I use it to add color to alt beers, dark lagers, dunkelweizen, etc. In other words, I use them when I want...

Isn't 60L Caramel/Crystal like the most used specialty grain on the planet? . . . :p Just saying . . . pretty sure that you can use that in virtually any style sans a hefe or something light lager-ish.

    Pumpkin Ale....the start??

Below is the recipe I used last Wednesday. I used 4 cans (60 oz, total) of canned Pumpkin in the mash. Previously, I had baked the pumpkin on a baking sheet at 350 for about 40 minutes. The mash was horribly stuck and took most of the day to get the wort into the kettle. I also used 1.5...

    Advice - Pre-Hopped LME

My Dad used to be a kit brewer, but he never brews beer anymore. Since I hate to see anything beer related go to waste, I took to cans of LME off of his hands promising that I would put them to good use. They are both Cooper's pre-hopped kits. I plan to use them with a few partial mash...

Can I increase alcohol level after adding yeast?

Sure. Your yeasties, if alive and well, will continue eating fermentables as long as there are fermentables to be eaten. So, if you were to pitch some new fermentables into an already fermenting solution, the yeast will eat 'em up. To complicate matters a bit, though . . . make sure that...

I haven't used it yet, but the "sparks" feature is supposed to help like-minded people fine one another.
