I wasn't sure if I could mix different ale yeast strains. So I went with the safe route , lbs recommended the wine yeast, but the flip side i rarely use dry yeasts. So my experience is a little light.
Long story short. On 1/25 I brewed a saison and used wyeast 3724 Belgian saison. Pitched at 68f and had no activity for a few days. Slow fermentation and lead to becoming stuck at 1.042 after 10 days, raised carboy temp to 85 and it continue down to 1.035, and now is seeming like it's stuck...
I've only had this flavor from doing this specific batch. Everything else has been fine.
And I don't do anything to my water. Mainly because I haven't had a problem

So this is my second attempt at a bells two hearted clone, used the beer smith recipe and nailed all my targets. I have this nasty medicinal taste, just like the first time I brewed it using a northern brewer kit. I've done 6 batches between with absolutely no faults or off flavors.

Oh yeah the picture looks off, the burner is on the lower tier, will be transferred to the top to heat mash/sparge water. And then transferred to the bottom to boil. Top pot sits about 8in higher.
