    How much vanilla bean for 5 gallons???

    I used 2 beans in a vanilla milk stout a while back. I soaked them over night in Jameson whiskey then added to secondary for 2 weeks. Worked well the vanilla came through well. Could have used 3 I think

    force carbing.

    Thats one option, I use the set it and forget it method - Set to about 12psi (after sealing the keg with about 20psi) and leave it sit for 7 days or so. Then start sampling, usually about 2 weeks is prime time for NeIPAS

    I doubt you killed it. I transfer by taking the lid off a purged keg, stick the siphon hose to the bottom and fill it. All I make is IPAS, and I have yet to kill a batch. C02 is heavier than 02, so opening the lid yes will allow some 02 in, but that c02 is not just going to fly away. Your...

    Simcoe, Citra and Columbus leftovers IPA: hop usage?

    Quick thought suggestion Simcoe yes, maybe break it up like 25 - 15 10? Citra/Columbus Flame out 20 min steep Whirlpool 2 steps with a mix of simcoe and citra Dry hop simcoe #1 and 2nd dry hop with citra. I love vienna in my ipas.

    Thank you day_trippr. I guess I haven't thought about bottling in a long time! There is heavy amounts of dry hopping in this batch, so I told him to try and leave a lot of trub behind. But I'm sure he will get the yeast still in suspension. It's a quick schedule should be bottled in 12 days
