    WLP500, WLP515, and Safbrew T-58

Lively bunch. Anyway, yes three different batches (one batch/wort split into two different yeast) all having its own different yeast strain (WLP500, WLP515, T-58). Remember these are 1 gallon batch. The grain: 2lbs Belgian Pilsner, .25 Munich, .2 Special B, .15 Crystal 60. The Hops: 1 ounce...

    WLP500, WLP515, and Safbrew T-58

I decided to brew a Belgium Dubbel using WLP500, WLP515, and Safbrew T-58 to see what would happen. The WLP500 trappist ale took 48 hours to get going, but when it finally started it smelled sweet and bananas. The WLP515 Antwerp ale (platinum series) started in 12 hours and smell peppery...

    safbrew T-58?

I am about to write up a thread about three different yeasts I used in making a Belgium Dubbel. T-58 is one of them. Summary: it started fast, within 4hours (airlock activity) and smells great! Look for my post for full write up on WLP500, WLP515, and Safebrew T-58.

    Wlp500 Trappist ale

So I want to reaffirm the knowledge on this great site. WLP500 yeast is not a 24 hour starter. Like others mine took ~30 hours to get going. What made me uneasy is I split my wort w/ Platinum series Antwerp ale yeast and it took off in ~8hrs. So I'll follow up with taste reviews on this Dubbel...

Worried about krausen after a month

I am using WL008 (East Coast) as well and the Krausen has not completely dropped out as well. Initially it took off (under 12hrs w/ yeast starter) and then settled after 48hrs. I am in the 2+ week in primary and plan on letting it sit for another 2 weeks before kegging/bottling.

    He'Brew Bittersweet Lenny's R.I.P.A. (Double IPA w/ Rye Malt)

I know this is an old post. But this beer is great and want to find a clone. If you have an idea what the inventory list will be please reply.

Has anyone seen this?! (yeast starter saga)

I was hoping that when he put his mask on and had to adjust it to breath that he would hyperventilate or struggle breathing and then pass out. "Ok, I don't want to scare you, but the best home brewers wear a mask". Ok, it is getting hard to breath, but as long as I am not breathing I can't...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

@rexbanner: I am building this and having my own challenges, but to address your collapsing braid i read a post where a person used copper wire 10-12 gauge and coiled it. Then elongated the coil and inserted in the braid. That may stop the braid from collapsing. I also just read on another...

    Floral or stale taste

So I brewed NB English Pale Ale and I am not thrilled with the result. There is no real flavor to it and the one flavor that I can pick out is not flattering. I can't decide if it's floral or stale that I am tasting. Initially I kegged it, but the pressure valve was not keeping sealed so it...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Here is my experience: 10 Gal cooler at HD is not displayed must ask where they're kept. Price $40+tax. All the other parts were easy to find, but three parts differed from the fly guy wiki post. The 1/4 hose clamps turned out to be Nickel plated steel vice stainless steel (which is better)...

San francisco beer festival and brett

That's what this forum is missing...Festivals and/or Events! Or, maybe it is here and my head is still clouding from the SFBF. Anyway, anytime beer lovers have a place and opportunity to get together it should be known. Here is another one i'm going to check out...
