Serving from a keg on its side

thats a good idea, but as you said. There will be sediment almost every pull. Unless you filter the beer into a clean keg. i can also see you losing more beer that will be trapped as dead volume. The draw tube pulling from the bottome center of the keg may leave behind a few ounces at empty...

Show me your Keg Label Ideas!

Hey guys, I am interested in getting some labels to put on my kegs. Something vinyl that I can use dry erase markers on. Im planning on labeling my brew "Joe's Junk brewing". My first extract brew tasted like crap so everyone called it Joe's Junk and the name stuck lol. Ive played around...

Best method to cleaning ball lock Cornelius Kegs

okay, yes, I didnt replace the rings/ gaskets. I have extra gaskets but my thought process was if the kegs held the pressure, the gaskets were still good. I didnt think theyd possibly be the source of the smell so thats a good idea. I did soak them in PBW for a good amount of time but I can...

Best method to cleaning ball lock Cornelius Kegs

Was a part of a local keg group buy. Didnt realize the kegs were not going to be reconditioned kegs and instead were dirty kegs (still had soda syrup in them). One keg had im guessing Fruit punch and the other had rootbeer. I let them sit for 48 hours in PBW solution. After 48 hours, I...

    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone

Well I gave a 5 gal batch to my dad. He already drank it all lol. It's pretty good. If I had to do it again, I would add the hops at flame out instead of dryhopping. Dryhopping took over all the hop flavor. It's delicious but wasn't actually the goal I was trying to achieve

    Solvent/Alcoholic flavors

nah it will give you the same result. I usually condition in the keg after purging with CO_2. no light, no air, best conditioning. Optimal fermentation for WLP300 is 68-72*F If you set the fermentation chamber at 72*F, chances are the actual fermentation temp was 6-8*F higher or more. Id...

    Keggle use

Keggles make excellent BKs, The one thing id like to do to mine is put in a ball valve near the bottom with a false bottom similar to a mashtun.

    Solvent/Alcoholic flavors

fermentation temp too warm, It fermented too quickly. Whats the yeast? If you let it sit for a month conditioning, it should mellow out.

New post a picture of your pint

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone lighting isnt perfect. Not as red as this pic makes it, color is 7.5 SRM. Great for drinking while grilling balsamic vinaigrette soaked chicken :mug: I will have to go pick up some Sierra Nevada pale ale for comparison :D

    Chocolate Stout cocoa powder/lactose question

My experience with the cocoa powder was that it was nearly undetectable in the beer flavor. It existed in scent only. If I did it again I think I would take the advice offered above and maybe more lactose than what I used.

Thoughts on preventing oxidation during keg transport without CO2 tank.

I dont think Ive ever tasted oxidation before. What does it taste like in the beer? I feel like your more cautious then I am when I keg :)

    Conical to keg transfer video

pretty neat. I didnt see him purge the air out of the keg tho. He just pressurized it in the video. But I get it, its a great idea. But the thing I couldnt take my eyes off of was that black dot at the bottom of the video
