Toppling Goliath pseudoSue - Can you clone it?

That recipe looks great. I'm a huge fan of NEIPAs and might have to try that one sometime.

Toppling Goliath pseudoSue - Can you clone it?

My buddy Matt is a brewer at Alluvial, he and Jason have been making really good stuff up there. They just released their first bottles last night, were you able to get in on any of those?

    Mosaic IPA

Have you ever thought about upping your dry hops to around 3 oz? My tastiest IPAs/Pale Ales have used 2 separate 2oz hop additions, about 3 or 4 days each, one after the other.

What is your favorite local beer (besides Homebrew)

Toppling Goliath - Dechora, IA Not really that local, but still from Iowa and gets distributed down to Des Moines. Ridiculously great beer, have loved every single one of their Hop Patrol Series. My favorite is PseudoSue which is an all citra APA that rivals, some say surpasses Zombie Dust.

    Chocolate coffee stout help

I would stay away from any kind of sugar such as dextrose or molasses on this beer. As it is a Mr. Beer kit, there probably will not be much body to it anyway and adding a sugar like that is going to make it very thin. I would recommend some dark DME to up the fermentables and give it more body...

    All-grain first time mistakes?

Make sure all valves are closed!!! Luckily never happened to me, but had a friend the other day lose most of his first runnings when draining to kettle from his mashtun. I finally caught it and after sparging only had about half his estimated pre-boil wort. Next lesson has already been...

    Chocolate Coffee Stout Questions

Definitely the reason why I am doing a 2.5 gallon batch. I am assuming the 4 oz cacao nibs was in a 5 gallon batch? I have read that less cocoa is needed when doing higher gravity beers. So I might bump it up to 2 or 2.5 oz based off that, to get a tad bit more chocolate flavor. Any experience...

    Chocolate Coffee Stout Questions

Thinking about doing a chocolate stout next. Only going to do a 2.5 gal batch since this is the first time using coffee or chocolate. I can post the whole recipe if needed, but I am shooting for an OG of 1.082, and 52 IBU. After looking at countless threads on adding coffee/choc I have...

    DIY fly sparge!

I batch sparge and know others that do. I have heard about 70-80% is pretty common. I personally get about 75%. When you get down to around 60% you might want to make sure your crush is not the culprit.

    My first Chocolatey Oatmeal Stout

Sorry, my question was to Thadass. Yours does look very good though and might give a try sometime this winter. Cheers!

    My first Chocolatey Oatmeal Stout

Any chance you would be willing to post the recipe (if all grain)? If so, how did it turn out/what might you change next time you brew it? Thanks, I love Founders Breakfast Stout and didn't really think about attempting a clone until I read your post.

    Central Missouri Residents

Will be traveling to Booneville MO for work tomorrow, and was wondering if I would be able to find some beer that is not available to me here in Iowa along the way, such as Odell, Great Divide, Left Hand, and Lagunitas. I will be going through towns such as Trenton, Chillicothe, and Marshall...
