ok... so like so many others I am also new at brewing! and I have a question about being able to taste and more so smell the spec. grains used why brewing? I mean.. I was drinking one of the first few bottles of my shakespear stout clone and I could smell the special grains that I steeped with.. I also had this smell/taste with my nut brown!

Is this a sign of "green Beer" ?

And

I assume (if I would let it) that this would blend better with more time!

Any good chef can taste the specific ingredients, spices and herbs. Just knowing that something is present makes you more aware of its presence.

That said, a green beer does seem to present more "separate" flavors. Give the beer a couple days and taste. Couple more and taste again. Couple more and drink away.

I mean c'mon...we gotta get to it eventually. :D
