I believe the drywall, pond water and cat dipping tame the normally intolerable off flavors thrown by turbo yeast, but you do have to cycle the ferm temp between 90°F and 50°F at 6 cycles per day.

Brew on :mug:

I thought the naked cat dipping was how the wort was inoculated using "your own yeast"???

Now I am confused. Of course I haven't had a cat for over a year :-( so I wonder if turbo yeast is instead of cat dipping?

Yes, but the cat yeast by itself will not get you to 26% ABV. You need the turbo yeast if you want to go that high. I was referring to the synergistic effect the cat yeast had on making the turbo yeast behave itself w.r.t. to the rocket fuel off flavors.

Just throwing this out there as I haven't reached True Beer (tm) nirvana, but I have 4 of these little hairless sh*ts running around here. Could I dip a different cat in each time formation slows to achieve the mythical 26%? What difference does PPG (Purrs Per Gallon) actually make in ABV?

Brulosphy did an exTRUEbeeriment and found that adding more than 2 cats gave muddled off flavors and only fermented to 18% ABV. All 26 tasters of various experience correctly ID’d the beer with 2 cats from the beer with 4 cats.

I want to do a Real Beer(TM) clone of Concrete Blonde Ale. I found this at Home Despot and think it would work great in the mash. I do BIAB, so I wonder if someone makes a bag that can handle this without tearing.

I like the cat-dipping idea for adding dimension to my Real Beer(TM). However, I don't have a hairless cat, but that's OK, because a little cat hair can do wonders for the texture. Will I need a cat dander starter before pitching?

More junk science from unTrulosophy. Unless the cats were identical clones the exTRUEbeeriment is worthless. A cat is not a cat is not a cat.

I'll be darned.. just when I think they're getting predictable they go and have a result that makes a difference.

Need your help guys. I'm at home Depot (my lhbs) and I can't decide whether to get 1/2" or 5/8" drywall. I want this true beer to be a little more full bodied, so should I go with the 5/8"?

5/8" will make a thicker bodied beer, about 25% thicker than the 1/2" stuff. Depends on your personal tastes.

If it were up to me, I'd go 5/8".

Modern drywall is highly modified so there is no need to use 5/8". Even 112/137" should be fine as long as its sourced from a reputable wallster.

True Beer can reach alcohol levels of 26%. I urge you to try before criticizing. Follow my methods that I have posted.

U wnot be dissaponted.

SO this is really more prison hooch than beer? You haven't really posted any methods so far.

You are not reading my original post. I never said i wanted to make True Beer, its just adream. I want to try to learn about True Beer processes.
I told you.

Which is especially odd you have methods you want us to try, when you are just trying to learn about the process yourself. [Source:you]

turbo yeast is derived from origanal belgian stains

And this is the first time you mentioned a specific yeast. In what I'm going to generously call a 'TrueRecipe TM', you only mention that it was "my yeast". I could not find that from any yeast lab.

This has been a great way to spend the last hour in the office before lunch. I've made it to page 22, does Fearless Freddy ever show up again? I love reading your posts but it's his "advice" I really crave.

He pops in once in a while to restate his wharrgarble about True Beer(TM).

I see he has a thread about naming beers after rappers. That should be epic.

Our brewmaster and savior his royal highness Fred prophet of the TrueBeer(tm) keeps a schedule more like the pope. Once a month, late on a Sunday morning, he will come out and prosthelytize, then he has to get back to his acts of holy brewery startup.

One day, when the knowledge laid down in this thread is more complete, and the 2015'ers have all been bathed in the holy TrueBeer(tm), the scriptures tell us the full knowledge of TrueBeer(tm) will be revealed by the prophet himself.

At that point I guess Yooper will make it a sticky and we'll get a write-up in Zymurgy.

I think us early adopters should push for a group photo for the write up!

look, i dont think you read the entire thread. i posted my methods in the beginning, as i have always done exactly the same. i have only made true beer from the very beginning as that was the way my grandpippa taught me from the old country.

this is a regional style for my people. this is NOT mainstream watered down beer like 99% of homebrewers like.

In case y'all missed BB's post....

Me, I think I'll go with the Imperial True Beer tm
We got the Mississippi slough water in season, with drywall leftover from our house being built. I have bines all over - wild grape, virgin's bower, Virginia creeper. Maybe throw in some nettles. Just don't have any of that naked cat to :mug:steep. Maybe I can find a good farm cat to "borrow"....

Been keeping up since the beginning. It’s been an entertaining ride. There’s this little thing that lets you search the entire thread. I can pull out every post of yours on this thread. Your fourth post to your own thread, you claimed making True Beer tm was just a dream.

You state here in a recipe thread you started that it was the first recipe you were confident enough to post. I guess the hops you list are actually types of ‘bine’ and drywall.

Ohh but be careful. I think you may be giving too many details to us unworthy. We wouldn’t want you to spoil your grand launch.
I cant really release my details as they are confidential in preparation for my launch.

Hops add bitterness, do you want your beer to taste bitter???? I don't get what youre saying.

I want my beer to taste bitter. But, it is likely because I am a lowly peasant who doesn't know any better. One day, I can only hope that I am fortunate enough to enjoy the holy grail of all liquid indulgence. Hell, beer as I know it probably doesn't even exist. But, I know that when I sip it, the matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and it is delicious. Ignorance is bliss!

Its not a gruit. It is beer that is down to the bare bones of what beer is and yhen ratcheted up again in my own style. You can be critical all you want. I cant really release my details as they are confidential in preparation for my launch.

You can cut the condescending tone any time 2015 join daters

What fredthecat's "launch" might look like. (He is North Korean, after all.)

I'm somewhat disappointed and very much so glad that this thread is still going. :D
