Look for a small fridge used on Craigslist. They can usually be found pretty cheap. I picked one up for free if I hauled it away. Been using it for 4 years or so.

Well, I only have one open space left to put a fridge in for the bottled beers. I was thinking of something to go on top of my brew stand, since an outlet is to the left of it. Here's a shot of the stand, an old printer hutch...

I was talking to guy last night about swapping an old orange plastic canoe for 4 kegs and most of an all grain system...which is crazy because I love that old canoe and have no desire to keg. When I read this and think, if I were in the housing market and saw a picture of a house with a stir plate in the kitchen, I would totally convince the wife to go see the house.

That is the point of a starter, to confirm that you have viable yeast to pitch. Without making a starter you are taking a big gamble.

yeah I tested it out and after 24hrs still more than half the ice was left in it. pretty great for hauling around homebrews

I feel you .It was like that for me until last one all I got her was a card .I guess she figured it out. I got a $100 gift certificate to my LHBS. And we had dinner at a brewery .:rockin:

Hahahaha yeah we're pretty blessed. Still a bunch a hard workin joes with a high cost of living. Not that anyone wants to hear that! Stoked to be able to share some homebrew with a bunch of people who live off the grid...

Actually my boy has got amazing water pressure up there from tapping the river. It's colder and way more pressure than at my house! With my trusty jaded immersion chiller (75 feet of copper coil) got 11 gal of wort chilled down to 78f in 7-8 minutes. Gotta be a record for Maui in the summer...
