Has anyone ever used citrus in there starter (lemon peel, orange peel etc)?
If so, what were your results? I am making a Bavarian Hef for the Mrs. And wanted to try something different. I boiled about a half oz. of lemon in my starter before adding the yeast.
Thanks in advance

I decant my starters, so it wouldn't make sense.

But it just seems like a low-return effort and you'd be better off adding it late in the boil.

Yeah I assumed the same. But figured it couldn't hurt. I had the lemon left over and wanted to use it up. I am going to make a tea with orange, lime, and coriander to pitch into the secondary. I want it nice & fruity.
Its always a good day when she likes her beer!
