I ordered a tube of WLP007 and they forgot to ship it with the icepack. Is there any concern regarding viability if I create a 1500ml (150g DME) starter? It was in transit for 5 days in various climates. I was also planning on harvesting the yeast from the primary to wash and reuse.

I've had yeast packs shipped in the dead of summer and the ice pack only stays cold a short time. Some of the packs have been warm to the touch, but when put in a starter, they've been fine.

If the shop you ordered from forgot the pack and you have it on your receipt, I'd call or email them to let them know. Maybe they will send you another pack or a credit.

Thanks. Hopefully the starter takes off or I'll be running out for a smack pack.
