I kind of dispute their claim that all lagers are homogenous (maybe if all you buy is BMC), but this could be interesting.

Yeah, they should know that us homebrewers are already an impatient lot.

But it does sound like trying to get ale characteristics from lager yeast. Which gets me thinking, why not just pitch WLP810 and a fruity/spicy ale yeast together, and keep it at the lower end of the ale yeast's temp range?

It's just odd that they ferment faster, are still lagers, but have ale fruity esters. And their point is???...

I guess it's for breweries that are already built around cold-temperature fermentation? The differences seem like they would be solely at a microscopic level.
