I wanted to try the yeast recovery method so I dumped the yeast from 2 bottles of Hefe (WLP300) into a 1L flask where I had some starter wort made up from extra light DME and 1 hop pellet. I was happy to see it quickly show signs of normal fermentation in that flask.
Then I had to go out of town for three weeks.
I get back tomorrow. What will I find?
A. A perfectly usable sample of yeast that I just need to rinse then dump into another starter for a batch?
B. A moldy disgusting mess?
C. Something that looks and acts fine but ruins the batch of beer I am planning on brewing this weekend.
Anyone use yeast that's been in a flask in the closet for 3 weeks?
(I am very meticulous about sanitizing so it might be OK)
