Hi,
I recently brewed a batch of a Racer 5 clone from BYO magazine. Last night I pitched the WL150 (American Ale Yeast) at about 73 degrees. This morning when I went to check on it, there are no bubbles! Did I do something wrong. I've made Pale Ales before, and they normally bubble like crazy. Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. I don't know if this is vital or not, but I live in Hawaii so we have it in a constant ice water bath keeping it at about 78 degrees. And the SG was 1.047

I don't think its time to worry about no activity, but on another note, 78F is pretty warm for an ale yeast and could throw some off flavors into the beer. I would try to keep it down closer to 68-70F.

^This, but I would recommend going even lower if you can. 62-64 would be ideal. The beer will likely have a kind of fruity, English ale taste to it at your current temperatures. The esters will kind of mute your hop flavor. It will taste more like a Samuel Smiths IPA

Thank you Kaz and SC Ryan! I added more ice, since the temperature is starting to come down, and I am starting to see more bubbles. I appreciate your help :)
