Yeast Nutrient

Last night I decided to add some yeast nutrient to the end of the boil of the pale mild extract kit that I was brewing. This was the first time I've tried adding nutrient and I should have read all of the packaging but I didnt'. I saw 1 tsp per gallon and I dumped in 5 tsp with 15 minutes left on the boil. Shortly after that I saw it said 1 tsp for gallon of must... I think I got nutrient for mead instead of beer. Will this cause me any problems?

you should end up with a very active fermentation. Mead (and wine) have very little other than sugar for the yeast to consume. Beer has a lot more protiens and other neutrients. I think with beer you use 1/2 to 1/5th the dosing you do with Mead, but that is more cost savings than anything else.

You will be ok, although you might have a clean up when you get back to your fermentor.
