Hello all. So I made an all grain pilsner this past Saturday. OG was 1.040. I pitched a White labs yeast and as of this morning I have zero bubbling in my air lock. I cannot remember what White labs yeast it was as I do not have my recipe in front of me. I bought the yeast on Thursday night and kept in fridge until Saturday morning. I pulled it out at 10:00AM and pitched it probably around 6:00PM It was definitely at room temperature for while by then. I shook the vial up a little just before I opened it and pitched it. Wort temperature was about 67F. If it means anything I have Star San in the air lock. Yesterday I shook the **** out of the carboy at least 4-5 times throughout the day and still nothing. What are my options at this point? Can/should I pitch another one if it goes on for another day or so? Have I lost this batch?

Lager yeast strains can be known to be slow starters, so give it a little more time. In hindsight you should have made a yeast starter...yada,yada, yeast starter rant. If it doesn't show any activity in another day i'd aerate the wort again and pitch some more yeast. But, before you do that make sure the fermentation hasn't actually started. Do you see any krausen on top of the wort? Maybe your fermentor isn't sealed well and c02 is leaking somewhere.

Take a gravity reading. You never know, it might be fermenting just fine. You won't know unless you take a gravity reading.
