Would the first draft of a keg make a good starter? I would draft the first pint in a jar then chill 2 days and decant the beer. Would the yeast make a good starter? Seems like I am dumping good yeast down the drain with the first pint.

You would be selecting the yeast with the least flocculation of the colony, your next beer may never clear. It would probably make beer though.
