Hi guys, need a bit of advice..i keep getting a very yeast forward, bready finish lately in all my beers..i have tried using different strains(bry97,us05,safale abbaye),underpitching, overpitching, warmer temp.,cooler temp, longer primary time, shorter primary time,a new bucket and still seem to be getting this overwhelming yeast flavor..i have been homebrewing since the 90s and have never had this strange problem..thanks for any help

Hmmm, it seems as though you've tried adjusting nearly everything and the taste remains the same. For the life of me, with all of your experience brewing, and then to suddenly have this off taste, even after adjusting so many parameters, my only thought is that it may be you and how you're perceiving/sensing the taste. Have you recently started taking any new medications? Stopped smoking? Any reason to have an altered sense of taste?

Hmmm,I have recently quit smoking.though im not picking the flavor up in other beers.just my own..thank you though..definitely food for thought

I'm going to jump in here too. I've been having the same problem. I've fixed a lot of my problem with fermenting in the mid to low 60's. But I still have that yeast taste at the end. I just kegged today and when I tasted it after checking the gravity I didn't notice it. This time I left it in the primary for three weeks and when I pitched my yeast, S-04, I made sure my temperature was into the 60's. Thanks for starting this thread and good luck to you. I'll know more in a few days.

Thanks and good luck to you too.i havent tried low 60s yet..i always pitch when the wort is still cooling(prob mid 70s at pitch)..u might be onto something.i think thats my next step
