Wyeast packs swelled when shipped

I just received 2 packs of yeast in the mail that where swelled up quite a bit when I opened the package. I've never seen this before. Should I use them or not?

That's what you get for shipping in May. :cross: Did you order ice packs?

I think you can still store them for a little while. Get them chilled down and use asap.

Make a starter

Swelled packs are perfectly fine. Last time I was in CT there was a brew shop that sold swelled packs for $1. I picked up 4 of Denny's favorite 50, and some assorted lager strains. ALL brews I made with them were great!

Just make sure you make a starter and you'll be good.
