I'm making a Bavarian Dunkel which calls for Wyeast 2206. I have Wyeast 2001 which as you know is the Urquell Lager stran. Since that beer is more of BoPils....what about using that same strain for a Bavarian Dunkel? Will it give me some crazy flavor's?

I'm only asking because I'm going to make/lagger 10 Gallons. I'd hate to make something crazy....

Personally, I don't see a big difference among the lager strains, and I brew mostly lagers. As we all know, lagers are supposed to be clean fermenters with no yeast-induced flavors or aromas. So naturally you shouldn't expect the lager yeasts to vary greatly.

And I've NEVER come across a lager yeast that imparted any "crazy flavors."
