I was looking into different options for fermenting larger batches and I found these:

They both come with a 3/4" NPT plug hole so There should be no problem fitting a vapor lock on there. Relatively cheap options for fermenting larger quantities I think!

Well, the bottom tank is essentially the same one suppliers use for bulk liquid extract. I have a blue one sitting in my dining room right now. As long as they are food grade, I would say they are acceptable for primary fermentation. I would not secondary or primary for an extended time as oxygen would inevitably penetrate the vessel.

I have used the ones in the bottom picture a couple times the only problem i had was cleaning. the normal pbw soak works but i still had a slight ring from the krausen didnt want to brush the plastic so i switched to sankes. the cool thing is that i can get them free from the LHBS use it once than 5 star chemicals will take it as they are based about 6 miles from where i work, with only a mild rinsing on my part. if i need a 10 gallon fermenter badly it works out.

Thank for the head's up guys! Another possible use for plastic containers like these could be grain storage. An open head drum with a lid would probably be more useful though to scoop out the grain.
