I made a couple rookie mistakes. I was careless during the sparge of an oatmeal stout recipe and collected too much wort. I then went ahead and boiled it down to about 6 gallons. The SG was way off, about 1.043. After a week in the fermenter it's at 1.015 and seems to have exhausted the yeast.

Is it too late to attempt to salvage this beer? I know I could have added some DME to the boil, but I did a calculation of what it would take to bring the SG to where it needed to be and found I needed 2.2 lbs. I didn't have that much on hand so I just gave up.

Even tough I now have a very thin, low gravity stout, should I leave well enough alone, or can it be salvaged by boilng some more wort with DME and dumping in that? Is there a better way to salvage this? Will I also need to dump in more yeast?

Any suggestions appreciated.

A week is too early to tell what has happened. I would assume you are fine. 1.015 isn't a thin beer. Let the beer take its course and see what happens!

Thanks to @wailingguitar and @MaynadX for the wise advice. I did nothing to the wort except let it sit and ferment. After bottling it took a little longer than expected to reach full carbonation, but the result was not disappointing.

Lesson learned is what I already should have known: Don't worry. Have a homebrew.
