Axe? Is that the manly fragrance that women find irresistable?

Yeah, hopefully it'll make the beer irresistable too. :p

Roger that on the ball lock. Just wanted to make sure I had the right fitting on the cobra tap. It is packed and ready to fly.

I have about 16 pint glasses (taking up valuable cupboard real estate, waaaaay too many according to SWMBO)

LOL. Your SWMBO sounds like my SWMBO. I pick up a new pint/beer glass every chance I get. ;)

I have a crapload of mugs that I picked up in Germany, and the pint glass collection is in the 40s. Most of them are in a box in the garage. All told I have well over 100 beer glasses. :rockin:

Pint glasses are like socks and underwear: you can never have too many.

Walker--please tell me exactly what I need to bring of all those AG brewing supplies? i.e., what exactly did you pay me for? The two coolers of course (one of which has the stainless false bottom), what else?

Two coolers, false bottom, sparge arm, ONE ball lock, ONE hose barb, IIRC.

From our PMs on the topic, it was the system sold on NB's website, but it was missing the hardware from one cooler (ball lock and hose barb) and it was missing the high temp hosing.

Forecast for Saturday, 10-7-06

Day: Sunshine and patchy clouds.
Winds NE to 8 mph. High: 75° Feels like: 73°

Night: Mainly clear.
Winds NE to 4 mph. Low: 52° Feels like: 54°

I'm bringing some brew too, my 65-65-65-6.5 and maybe some of the porter and ESB if there is enough left. The porter is overly carbonated so it may just me more of a PITA than anything else.

Don't you think you should leave the weather forecasting to me? :D

My list is definitely correct. We bottled the DewBrew, Maple Blonde, and Red Eye Rye yesterday. Had major issues with the Red Eye Rye though. The beer was too warm so it foamed bad. Some of the bottles aren't filled to "competition" levels, but they are in 20 oz. bombers so you'll still get plenty of beer. I put together a sample pack of those 3 beers for everyone, for sampling after we recover from the fest. ;) Honestly, the Maple Blonde and DewBrew are kind of odd. Don't think much of those. I also threw in another bottle of Honey Pale Ale for everyone--don't know if that was well received or not, but I have a ton of it leftover.

I'll also bring a 3 gallon keg of the Red Eye Rye, and a growler full of Pliny so we can sample those during eats and poker.

If anyone needs tickets for the afternoon session, we have 2 available... will sell at cost. We decided both sessions might be a little much. :mug:

UPDATE: Tickets are gone...

Ok....good to go.

Walker--just got back from Coastal Wine, and bad news on the Hop Rod. The guy thought he had some Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye left, it was actually the Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale. Still a good beer, but not Hop Rod by any means.

It seems HRR is really hard to find anywhere. Both of my contacts have said their HRR contacts can't get any for them. :(

I can try and get some Hop Rod Rye, I know 2 places that normally carry it (haven't been there in a couple months). How much do you guys need?

I'll let Walker take dibs on how much he wants, but if you can find a few extras, I'll take 3-4. By far my favorite beer. REALLY bummed I can't find it.

I'll pay you on paypal beforehand if you want.

you ( and Walker too) want any other Bear Republic brews if I can't find HRR? I think the pale ale and the Racer won medals this past weekend.

As for payment, in the words of Randy Moss, "cash money, homey!"

Seriously, you can pay me anyway you want, paypal or cash next weekend. I don't know how to accept a paypal payment as I have only used it a few times to buy things on ebay.

Ok, I made a couple calls. One of the local stores has "8 or 10" bottles of HRR in stock. Total Wine is sold out.

I say grab them all if you can afford it. I'll take whatever Walker doesn't want. Hopefully that is about 4 of them. I'll pay you Saturday--or right now on paypal.

Whatever is easiest. Thanks a ton!

Well, apparently "8 or 10" means 6 so I bought all 6 (as well as the BR Black Stout and Red Rocket Ale but those won't make it to Saturday!)

No need for paypal, we can work something out later.

I may be able to find some more, I'll look around.

I called Corks and Kegs, they are suppose to get more HRR on Wednesday if you guys want any more.

Hmmmmm
You WERE looking to bring something other than chips and salsa, weren't you? (hint, hint)

Whoever was in charge of the weather, you're fired. Not looking good...

Yeah...latest guess:

Saturday: Showers. Highs in the mid 60s and lows in the low 50s.

Could be ugly, because Friday is supposed to be nasty wet, lots of rain and wind.

*I* just wish Walker were around on the board this week. Sheesh, I win my damn wager with him, he changes his sig, puts up a great avatar, and he's nowhere to be seen. That ain't right, I'm thinking his week of atonement ought to be extended by a couple days when he finally shows his ass again.

Yeah, who picked that avatar? Nothing against Brady, because I think he's great, but that is one "ghey" looking pic. Not that their is anything wrong with that, just sayin'. :p

Welp, the 45 kilometer mesoscale model version 5 (MM5) is looking bad. Looks like Saturday will be ugly. Looks like it will be cloudy most of the day with periods of showers, especially in the morning. Winds will be 10-15 mph from the north, so the high 0f 65 will feel a bit chillier. Bring a sweatshrt and a windbreaker.

I'll have a better idea on the rain by Friday afternoon when the 15 km MM5 gives us a better idea. Will update it then. For now, looking bleak, but I'm sure the beer will taste great!

Jeff, I know we'll prolly be inside most of the evening, but should I bring my portable firepit and a few logs? We love sitting outside by the fire....anyone else?

Well, that's kinda the point... thing is, Walker REALLY didn't seem to mind at all... like, he was perfectly fine with it..... "OK, if you insist, I'll use that picture ;))

I don't know, you know him better that I do...
