will these grits work?

Grits are a bit of a different animal! :)
The endosperm part usually contains most of the starches in corn kernels.
Corn "grits" are more or less the embryonic plant portions, but if they've been pre-cooked I don't see why they couldn't be put in a cereal mash.

Maybe polenta or corn starch in a cereal mash ... don't now how creative you really want to be, but it's something else to consider.

My understanding is that instant grits don't need a cereal mash and the flavor is the same as flaked corn
 
You may be right, but I'd mash it just to be sure - but that's me.
My beers are usually all malted grains with minimal crystal or adjuncts other than honey, dextrose, or candi sugar.
 
Monday bump...Any ideas on buying this? I think it will work and not require a cereal mash but want to be sure. I also think its pound for pound with flaked maize??
