Hey Updogs,

I'm offered a truckload of those tiny Kiwis that look like grapes.
(Kiwinis?)

Has anyone ever tried to ferment off this weirdness?
I've had Kiwi cordial before, but not a blended Cider.

cheers, T

I do not know of anyone that has done such a thing, but if they are free (and free is best) give it a run, you might end up with something magical. They kind of taste like a cross between an apple and a white grape to me.

I've made kiwi witbeer (courtesy of Sam Caligione). They fermented just fine. 4# in a 5g batch.

Finished beer had a fruity flavor and aroma that you would not identify with kiwi. Kiwi were skinned and cut in half and tossed into carboy. They sank immediately, then when their internal sugars started fermenting they floated (see lumpy krausen pic), then they eventually sank again.

If I do this again, I'll make a kiwi IPA. Anyone who has had New Belgium's Citradelic Tangerine IPA know's what I'm talking about :mug:

I've made a 100% Kiwi wine. Delicious. Agreed. Not a Kiwi flavor, but very "fruity". I did skins and all. Just wash some of the hairs off, and toss in a bag, and go town squishing!
