My cat has never tried to eat any of my food, except for the last two times I have brought home a meatball sub...she tries to eat it and then bats it out of my hand as I try to eat it. I have no words.

did you steal my cat?!?

Some cats eat weird stuff.

It's the marinara. See if it's interested in your spaghetti sauce next time you make some.

I've had two cats that love marinara sauce. The one that is still alive (even though he shat on the bathroom rug tonight) also loves oatmeal. The one that died 7 years ago also loved green olive pits.

Mind you, marinara and oatmeal aren't really good for cats to eat. But a little occasionally is okay.

The base ingredient in marinara is tomato. It's also the base ingredient in catsup.

Cats. Catsup.

Seems logical to me.
you just shattered my interweb view of you. I don't know if you can ever fix it.
Ketchup...

this. if it ain't "ketchup", it ain't going anywhere near my food. same way with Mayo/Miracle Whip debate. Mayo goes on sandwiches and burgers. Miracle Whip goes in the garbage.

Seriously, you and I have to take our opinions public. What do you think about mustard?

Ketchup goes on fries only. Or chicken strips if you mix it with honey. Mouseturd is awesome. Goes on anything.

Mayo? No. You can keep your oil and egg whites. Same goes for miracle whip, whatever the hell is in that stuff. The miracle is that they get people to buy that crap.

Cats eat weird stuff. Mine growing up had a soft spot for doughnuts, not that I can blame him. My buddy's ate pickles.

Ketchup goes with nothing.

It goes pretty well with the dark uncharted corner at the back of my fridge. Never touch the stuff.

You clearly have never had a Philly cheesesteak

I have, but that was before I got married. My wife is deathly allergic to bell peppers. If I have some, I can't kiss her for 12 hours.

Besides, I'd probably put some yellow mustard on it now.

Ketchup is for nothing. Mustard is for everything.

Basil & oregano are cousins of catnip; both are likely in the meat and/or the sauce. And then there's the meat. You can test this with a bit of either or both herbs, fresh with bruised leaves or dried leaves, crushed with your fingers, put a bit on the floor for your cat & see how she reacts.
Regards, GF.
