I'm not all that worried, but wanted to get some thoughts.
I had a red ale in the primary for about 2 months. Last night I was kegging, and it looked and smelled perfect... for some reason I didn't taste it. I was going to wash the yeast, but when I was cleaning the bucket, I went to wash off the stuck on ring, left by the kreusen, and i noticed some white crap growing on it. I think it was far enough from the beer to where it wasn't in it, and I never saw anything on the top. I didn't wash the yeast for fear of infection.

I'm thinking this formed late, and the beer itself was too high in alcohol for it.

Another thing that I found odd - the bottom of the bucket had some dark stains. Never had this happen before.

it was more like a white slimy layer, not spots. The beer tastes ok, I think. I will try again tonight, before having a few others.
