It's funny that it did that in the package, but my experience is that it loves to flocculate in massive clumps!

Spinning or shaking a starter of it for a day (or 2), when a certain cell density is reached, the same thing happens. It's amazing!
 
Totally normal for this strain. Once it is exposed to fermentable sugars, either in a starter or directly pitched, it will de-floc almost instantly.
 
Thanks for the reassurance. Always an adventure exploring new yeasts.

It is chugging away less than 15 hours after pitching.

UPDATE

Kegged my English spice and gravity was 10.14. So apparent attenuation of almost 78%. Impressive little yeast.
