I moved my IIPA to 5 gal glass carboy after fermenting 2 weeks. I now have what appears to be .5" wide white bubble/foam looking thingies and small clumps of what looks like very small beige particulates.

What could it be? Any reason for concern?

Thanks,

CB.

Could just be trub, most likely nothing to worry about. Can you post some pictures? That would be infinitely helpful.

I'd guess the foam looking things are yeast rafts. Just yeast with CO2 stuck to them so they float to the top. The other stuff is probably just trub like that other guy said. A picture or two would certainly help out, too.

There's a thread somewhere with pictures of actual infections, I don't recall what it was called, though.

Not the best pic, but the white stuff looks like clumps of tiny bubbles. I do use Star San liberally and do not rinse, maybe its "The Foam"!

The beige-ish stuff looked like yeast or some type of organic matter.

I have seen some brews with much more matter than what I have but it all looks like the beige-ish stuff. In this pic, the white stuff almost looks like mold, but in person it looks exactly like what you would expect soap or some other type of substance that leaves little bubbles.

Anyhow, not too concerned, more curious.

Bad news. That picture is pretty crappy.

But, what you described it as sounds to be just like yeast rafts and yeast floating around doing their sugar to alcohol thing that we love them so much for.
