I have had a 110v pump I got from eastcoastbrewparts.com about a year ago and its worked great. I recently bought another pump on Amazon by this supplier called Onebom that I was wearry of because I could not find much on the company. I get the Onebom pump in the mail and its literally the same exact pump as the eastcoasrbrewparts pump. Same exact specs on sticker and look exactly the same, even the impeller. Where are these pumps being manufactured? I know its china but what company?

The chinese all clone the same design so even though they might look like the same pump and the parts are interchangeable .. like the stc 1000 controller they can be made by a number of factories. We have use those exact pumps to pump newpaper plate processing chemicals in the machines I work on at work for years... they are a generic $40 industrial use pump that actually went up in price when the homebrewing community started buying them.

BTW you can buy a Buick in china thats not at all made by GM... but made from all the old molds and designs. (which technically makes it about as real as a new gm now that they farm so much out to be made elsewhere)
seriously though... most of the stuff you can buy from homebrewing retailers is just generic rebranded marked up stuff.. not all but a large portion of it.. I bought about 12 of these heating elements over the last couple years for $14 each for different systems....We dont know who actually made the originals thanks to conflicting stories but you can find them for upwards of $75 plus shipping each from different suppliers but they all do the same thing just as well. Im 95% sure mine are made by the same factory that makes the elements ebrew supply sells.

even the chugger pump started out as a manufacturer for march pumps that decided to go independent and the blichmann riptide is actually a march made pump (solid pump btw that I give blichmann props for designing if they did even if they dont make them)... you would be surprised who makes what for who these days... (well maybe not if you guessed the cheapest chinese bidder)
