Just recently racked a batch of Rasberry Pinot Noir and added ingredients and flavor pack on 12/31/13 and I have been checking it and I can not tell if it has started to clear. When is red wine done clearing, it is so dark I can not tell !! Any Help ??

Time helps, but fining agents also speed things up. For a lot of reds though it makes very little difference, since (as you said) they are too dark to tell. :)

If you shine the flashlight through perfectly cleared wine, you will not see the light beam in the wine. If you see the beam, it is reflecting off of suspended particles, and the wine is not clear.

Thanks so much Ted . I did use the flashlight and did not see any reflection but this is my first red so thanks so much for your help. Also strawberry rhubarb you ate doing now from a kit or from another recipe, my wife has been after me for sometime now to do one but have not found a recipe....
