I've never been a wheaty person.

There are several reasons for that. It's not a big style over here, It's not readily available in this area and there are many beers available that I prefer. I've never found one that I could drink happily on a regular basis knowing that there are other beers I want to try.

I've found a beer that "may" change that or at least the way I think of wheats. I don't have a clue whether this is the BMC of wheat's or a "goodun"
I'm happy to drink this on a ongoing basis.

Erdinger is quite nice. I once walked past the brewery in Erding but it was closed on the day and I couldn't get a tour... (and this was in my pre beer-geek days)

If you like it try Franziskaner, it is IMO nicer...

My last stop at the local liquor store I picked up a Erdinger because they were out of Franziskaner, again. They sell out of it every shipment. The Franziskaner has a lot more esters going on--banana beer.

Mmmm, yummay. I have often said that if I could only choose one style it would probably be a DunkelWeizen, it's so easy to drink. Refreshing on a hot day, and also hefty enough to enjoy when the snow is falling outside.

If you like the Dunkelwiezen Orfy, you may want to look for a Weizenbock. Much maltier and more complex than the standard Dunkelweizen. I think Weihenstephaner makes a good one.

I generally like the more phenolic hefe's with the big clove hits more than the banana. I think it's more of the Bavarian style? Anyway, Weihenstephaner rocks! Especially the dunkel!

I've been thinking the same thing recently.
