ok, got all the stuff needed to brew this up this weekend. Looking forward to it! :ban:

Belgian IPA with Citra hops, a Cascade Cream Ale, and normally a dry American Pale Ale. I love brewing for seasons, I never get sick of any particular beer/style that way.

If your looking for something light, refreshing and sour see my quick and dirty berliner. Takes about 1 hour to brew start to finish (not kidding) and gets requested regularly.

I'm wondering how good this one would be with WL029 kolsch yeast? that lager-like balance & lil crispness on the back might be good?

That looks like a good summer beer, I'm going to have to try it :mug:

I love an IPA, but I like something a little different to celebrate summer so I like to do a Red Rye PA. I got a great recipe from a friend that is different from most Red's Rye PA clones in that it has a very moderate amount of Rye. Most other recipes I've seen have too much.

I love that little bitte that Rye gives - but it's easy to overdo it.

I just made a Rye IPA with 10 lbs 2row and 1 lb rye. I gave it a sample when I dryhopped it last weekend and there's juuuuuust enough rye to give it a little bite. I think I made it about 70 ibu's and used chinook for bittering and simcoe for the whirlpool and dryhop.
I think using some Pilsner malt instead of 2row would make for a good beer too.

Toss in some orange peel at 5 mins. Maybe even a little lemon zest.

You know, I was all set to do that with the rye ipa I just made but once I sampled it there's so much hop flavor and character going on there I decided to just leave the zest out. I'm going to brew this one again for sure so I'll add it next time and do a half and half batch to compare. Right now though I just want to drink this stuff!

Maybe I'll add the zest to the summer beer I said I was going to brew this past weekend. Life got in the way and I still haven't brewed it yet.

I like doing a Saison combo. I'll use the Dupont yeast for my house ~6.5% Saison, and I'll use the Thiriez yeast for a ~3.5% Petite Saison. The Petite Saison especially is great for hot afternoons outside.

Yeah, the petite saison I did with 3711 yeast turned out great for a summer beer. A touch of orange zest might be good too?
