I want to automate my 15 gallon electric HERMS system, on both the hot and cold sides. I've read a great deal, spoken to friends and watched several online videos to get a sense of each brand's actual user experience that I can find. However, I just can't decide which to choose.

I don't mind setting up all the devices, variables and sequences the very first time. However, I don't want to feel like a programmer or data entry clerk on brew day. I'm looking for something that will control the usual and be user friendly and quick to configure or tweak on brew day.

I'll choose the controller(s) that matches whatever the software platform is compatible with.

So, without naming the brands I'm contemplating, I thought I'd throw it out here to get advice form those who have already taken the plunge...

Thanks in advance,
Mike

It's hard to suggest anything without knowing more about what all you want to automate. If you want to only automate temperature control and have the ability to turn pumps on/off, then you have a lot of options. If you want volume and flow control then this narrows things down to only a few options.

Brundog - thanks for the link. I see why you would be biased. Your software looks interesting and I'll PM you about it.

crane - I want to eventually automate the entire process. What do you have in mind?
