What's the difference between LG 3-MD-MT-HC and 3-MD-HC pumps and will I notice?

I am looking to get a pump and was wondering what the difference between Little Giant 3-MD-MT-HC and 3-MD-HC pumps?

I see the latter is higher HP and has higher GPH but am unsure if it is overkill. What is everyone's take?

More HP and larger ports IIRC. You can valve it off just like the smaller pump, so it won't be overkill. IOW, the extra power won't be detrimental in any way. Whether you need it or not, only you can answer. I have the smaller one and it works just fine for me.

More HP and flow/head capability is real nice if you are going to use your pump in any sort of CIP application or pumping through a CFC or plate chiller, but the cost/benefit is up to you.
