I was planning on hitting up Conclave next weekend (August 6th) but turns out they are closed then. So, to make up for it, Magnify is on my way to where I'm going to so I'll just stop there instead.

edit: Hmm, need advice. I just noticed I could take a detour and end up at Czig Meister brewing instead of Magnify. It adds about 45 minutes to my trip so I guess the question is whether it's worth it or not?

Not yet, at least not over Magnify imo. Czig has promise but their tap list is playing it very safe for now.

I like Magnify way better. Plus they are releasing cans that weekend. However, Hackettstown does have three breweries all close to each other.

Vague post is vague

I think Os is just commenting on Czig vs Magnify without actually commenting about it since he's the social media czar around here ;). I could also just be reading into things and projecting my personal opinion

I haven't been able to get to Czig yet, but from everything I've heard what they do they do well. They're not super flashy, but they're nailing the basics. So many new breweries are eager to do the next adjunct laden double dry hopped hype machine that they never really got down their recipe/process for your basic beer styles.

I was not particularly impressed with Magnify when I went there. I haven't really been impressed with any new NJ brewery in the past few years except for Conclave.

I will say that I have not heard bad things about Czig... I have yet to visit myself... I also have faith they know how to make good beer...

That's a very unfortunate thing about beer these days. Hype, adjuncts and off the wall styles draw people in. It's not about beers to style and quality. That's considered playing it safe.
I've never been to either, and I am drinking my first Magnify at this very second. It's pretty tasty. If I'm going out of my way to visit a brewery I would probably go to czig due to what I've read in this thread.

Czig Meister was fine and had a great space for hanging out. I wasn't wowed by the beer yet but everything was solid. I think more talkbeer people are going to steer people towards Czig based on what I've read here. I haven't seen much posted about Magnify on this site. They make great farmhouse IPAs and nice saisons in my opinion.

I think wherever you go, we can all agree don't go to Brix City.

If Czig is an extra 45 minutes out of the way, I would recommend Magnify as they are also releasing 3 new cans on Saturday. I find their beer to be pretty tasty, some misses but overall nothing to keep me from not going back and enjoying their canned offerings.

Some would say that The Alementary is playing it somewhat safe, but their Session IPA is one of the best beers i've had in a long while (NJ and beyond). Playing it safe with certain basic styles can seem mundane, but i'll sure as heck take it over alot of the subpar beers i've had in the past 2 years or putting something in a 16oz can as to have some tangential relationship to Heady Topper or Tree House. I've been fooled by alot of cans recently....speaking of beer, of course ;)

Dear Mike,

I love you, but stop posting announcements about **** that is still 4 months out. It makes me want to die inside.

Sincerely,

Guy who drinks your beer.

I don't mind a little tease... but I would like to know if they will can the pils... or if I can get a keg for home... haha....

or just lemme get a couple 6ers of that sneak box...

edit: I still feel like a 12 year old perv when I say that.

When there have been Kane posts about things going IN to barrels, that crushes me completely. Typically a 6-18 month process. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

I am all about the tease, but Mike is like a cute girl on Snapchat sending you a random nude then nothing but pictures of her lunch for the next 12 weeks. Pretending like it never even happened.

Obviously not speaking from experience.
