For what it's worth, I heard about twice as much Ripple was bottled than Overhead, which makes sense. I'm sure the "regular" crowd of IPA-hunters will also be targeting Overhead moreso than Ripple.

That said, I was there right before it closed on Sunday and it looked like they had plenty left of both for Thursday opening.

Yeah, uh

But if anybody is bold enough to try this, please do report back. I don't think that's for me, but I'd love to know what it tastes like. Though I do feel bad for whoever has to clean that Randall out at the end of the night (I assume Sloan).

on that note... not sure what it would add to a beer... they are slightly nutty but without crushing them, I wonder how much flavor would come out... or is it more of just the seasoning???

I guess it depends on how they are prepared

I know that this isn't NJ, but zfg. Industrial Arts has opened up shop in Gardnerville, only 15 minutes over the NY/NJ border. "Chief" formerly of Ithaca and Peekskill has opened his own place. Great venue and great beers.

great news! I can't wait to visit

Great to hear - another friend of mine mentioned to me a few days ago that IA is open so it's on my list.

Separate note: I had my first try of Twin Elephant over the weekend. Someone brought a growler of Lil Shimme Ye and I really enjoyed it.

Twin Elephant had some growing pains out of the gate, are they hitting their stride? Anyone been to recently?

Keep me updated, may have to play sick on Friday to plant the seeds that I'm not coming in Saturday.

I'm hoping to get there sooner than later. I heard similarly about growing pains but haven't been able to visit yet so I was reserving judgment. The beer I tried was pretty good though so I'm curious to try more. From what I've read elsewhere, it appears they've been tinkering with recipes since they opened and have been digesting constructive criticism in the hopes of improving so that's a good sign.
