my issue with fuego is that it was a great IPA... before 6packs were spread far and wide... now their DDH Fuego reminds me of what regular fuego was.... seems like their milking it if you ask me... what do i know tho

shucks. My friend pondered that question to me about the canned version. If it was as good as it was from the brewery. When I visited the brewery (last year I think?) they said they only made it occasionally because it was expensive to make. Now that it's in six packs on shelves I can see it somehow not being the same as it was.

exactamundo... more or less... i think... i speculate.. tastebuds don't lie.... it is what it is.... so forth and so on.....

Somebody is opening a brewery in Montclair, where I live:

http://baristanet.com/2018/01/montclair-brewery-moves-ahead-with-approval-from-planning-board/

This is right down the street from the Walnut Street train station, and super close to my house. I mean, as long as its better than Egan's I'll be psyched, but if it turned out to actually be kind of good, that would be very convenient.

Anybody know these guys / know anything about these guys?

EDIT: Looks like there's also an indiegogo campaign to fund some final, unforeseen exterior modifications the town has ordered them to make prior to opening.

EDIT 2: I found a better article about the brewery.

Someone posted an article on one of the Facebook groups and some of them were familiar with the owner and said he makes some killer homebrew.

that being said
He plans to feature a rotating menu of about 40 brews, incorporating traditional West African teas, herbs, and spices in some specialty beers.

Hello NJ folks, I will be in Jersey City next week for a few days on business and was hoping to get some suggestions for good bars and bottle shops to hit up while I am there. Any guidance is appreciated.

Go to Barcade.

Get drunk.

Eat late night pizza on your stumble back to your hotel.

Wake up hung over, get a Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel.

Congratulations! You’ve enjoyed all NJ has to offer. Now please get the **** out. We already have too many people in this godforsaken state.

Don't listen to Ben

As far as bars go I'd recommend

Wurstbar
Barcade (I guess)

Skinner's Loft will have a decent tap or two from time to time.

If you're in the mood for some awesome cocktails/charcuterie head over to Third and Vine. The Archer and Dullboy are also solid cocktail spots.

As far as stores go, the only games in town are Super Buy Rite and CoolVines. Cool Vines all the way IMO

in b4 raginasian238 starts complaining about how everything I said is downtown

Wurstbar has the best list in the city by far. You can look at their list on Untappd and beermenus.

Barcade is a distant second but they have decent lunch specials.

CoolVines is definitely the best. BuyRite is ******* terrible. Old ass IPA and their selection is unimpressive anymore.

I cook almost every night so I don't go out to eat much. It is possible you can trust gregkoko but certainly not Ben. ;) Cinnamon raisin bagel gtfo (sorry Gene). I do indeed tend to avoid downtown for restaurants and stick to the little ethnic spots in other areas (there are tons). But really you can get just about anything here, which makes this city great.

Marc, spellcheck ffs
Edit: Merci!

and I figure the people who need to know know already, but they changed their releases to Saturdays (instead of friday afternoons) because of their neighbors... just a FYI.......

We're pics down last night? Didn't even notice the broken link.

Yeah, changing the day still doesn't help me out get my hands on them easier. Just means the line starts earlier haha. I miss the days my Gary's had them in stock always, although good for them.
