Well it hasn't been as good as last year for a few years straight so it's really not good anymore. It also sees almost national distribution, so it's not rare which makes it have less demand. The limited release pastry stout market has gone insane, and people are only chasing the hype whales.

Yes, i thought the past two years (16 & 17) have both been good. Not sure where you are seeing the tonnage, but I never saw a bottle on the shelves. Granted I don't actively chase trucks anymore

I honestly don't remember when was the last time I checked out the beer section of a bottle shop in NJ

Yesterday's Victories

1) Went to Referend instead of Kane
2) Drank with a ton of great peeps instead of waiting in line at Kane for DDH Sneakbox
3) Bottles from Referend did not explode

At the risk of alienating all the people here who already haven't been super friendly to me (added to the fact that prick Todd banned me from BA) I would like to say that I did get DDH Sneakbox at Kane without waiting on any line and had a nice flight. But I'm sure going to the Referend was nice as well.

Yup, I used to be buddies with Matt the beer guy who always had great recommendations. I think that place sold for about $4 million. Had to buy the license and entire inventory. That store's basement is huge with tons of booze.

Re: KBS - yeah i remember when they increased distro a mile wide and an inch deep. Personally I felt they started watering it down around 2012, can't exactly remember. Thanks for the insights.

I just got home and do, in fact, have a 6 bottle shipper. I live in Hoboken and work in Cranford if either are convenient for you, it's yours!

I had a caramelized onion, goat cheese and fig omelette that was fantastic. Rest of the menu sounded really delicious and what I had gave me faith that it would be good.
