that would be cool... would have to find a place. Unfortunately, most of those places are far from public transportation. lol
June...outside...near public transportation...sounds like train station parking lot party!!!

Not for me. I went yesterday. Didn't know about it until Thurs. I'm glad it happened that way. They have $5 off specialty burgers. Got the Bleu Cheese Burger with Candied Bacon. Long hots with provolone as an app.

I didn't see till I was home weds and then had to go to different job thurs.working bout 5 mins from the place then sad feels that I missed

Also that burger sounds legit

I went to Icarus Brewing today in Lakewood. It's a nice little space. The coffee porter and the pale ale were both good. The saison was fine, and the red ale and doppelbock were a red ale and a doppelbock. Everything tasted like beer. Nothing was bad, but nothing blew me away. I would definitely order the pale ale though if I saw it on somewhere.

I spoke with their sales guy for awhile and they seem to be on in a lot of places that traditionally serve little to no craft, which is cool. He's also trying to sell the owner on the virtues of canning hoppy beer asap (so I guess get your glamping chairs ready).

My parents live less than 5 minutes from the place, there was a dog there, and they have jumbo Jenga, so I'll definitely be back. The next two beers they've got in the tanks are a black IPA and a smoked pilsner. So if that's your jam, I guess get hyped.

I always google new names when you mention them because I am so out of the NJ beer scene I think half of these places are made up.

I guess I need to respect beer more often.

You should look at the list of breweries on the NJCB website. Some of those names are so ******* terrible that I wish they were made up. But given what you've just told us, I may start making stuff up.

"I stopped by Mudfart Brewing today in Little Egg Harbor. The guy behind the bar had two eyes, but they were super close together, so like wtf. Another guy offered to sell me a ride on his tractor for as many dollars as he had teeth, so it seemed prudent to decline. But there was a goat and they had Connect 4 and the beer was aight, so I'll probably be back."

I bet Mudfart has a great porter.

You always seem to enjoy the porters.

For you, and anybody else that doesn't Respect Beer as frequently as they ought to, you can easily tick some of those lesser known NJ breweries and have a decent reuben at this event:

Hopefully Mudfart can roll a keg of their famous Pig Slop Scrapple Porter up from South Jersey in time for the event.

I went to Devil's Creek, Tonewood and Double Nickel on Saturday. Best beer I had between all of them was Fuego from Tonewood. I liked some of the other beers by Tonewood as well but felt that some of them weren't "to style." For instance their "Saison" tasted more like Belgian Singel, the Pilsner was a little too bubblegummy and the Rye IPA tasted more like a hoppy amber. I had the 1888 Old Ale at Devil's Creek, and while it was a good beer, it tasted like a Fat Tire and not an Old Ale.

Also New Jersey needs to get their act together and allow breweries to sell food.

Any other Tb locals around?

screwyouguys free?

Will do. Sorry. Sometimes plans fall together out of nowhere and it's looking like I'll have a few free hours if things pan out so got to strike when I can.

Referend is also only open 2 times a month and have had them on lookout to check out if possible. Last time Saturday they were opened it snowed.
