Hi there...so I will admit that I have never put much thought or planning into building a brew stand so go easy on me. I have been brewing for quite a while using my archaic stacking of beer crates to have gravity on my side. Anyhow I was at a local recycling plant and I found this stainless steel framed stand and I knew it looked too perfect to not take home (I asked and was given permission to take it for free!). Anyhow please excuse my dirty garage as it's still needing some spring cleaning but I'd like to hear what you would do with this stand!

One thing to mention I am currently using a rectangular cooler w/ copper piping as my mash tun and a keggle for boiling. I do live in UK for the next several years at least so I have 240v at my disposal. But I know NOTHING about electric brewing however I'm willing to learn :)

Anyway I'd like to hear your inputs!

Oh here are the pics!

Not sure how long it was sitting outside but I took some industrial sized compressors off this thing (I have no idea what this was used for) and obviously it needs some TLC to clean up.

Nice score. Looks like a pulley driven BIAB system in the making to me.

Referencing the first photo, do you notice if the left side is more rigid than the right?
Anyway, you could saw the upper section off, even out its "legs" with the remaining half so the tops are even, then bolt the two sections end to end for a single-tier rig.
You'd likely have to grind out those tack-welds holding the panel on the left side...

Cheers!

Do you really want to go electric?

By the time you add up the costs on the electric setup it is going to start making less and less sense to use a stand that isn't exactly what you want, even if the stand was free.

One option would be to re-configure that stand to match the 1 x 2 configuration of the MoreBeer stands:

The height looks about right, although you would have to use some of the frame and existing shelf to make the three level arrangement.
