What type of Gas Line?

I am looking to get some gas line to start setting up my kegging system but I'm not sure if the 5/16" clear and slightly thinner walled stuff is better or the thicker 5/16" hose that is red/orange. I am thinking that clear line would be a good option as I would like to know when/if I get beer up into the gas line for cleaning purposes. So I guess the question is, is it better to have a thicker wall or a clear wall to tell when cleaning is needed?

I would say you are better off with thicker tubing to resist pressure. You never know when you may accidentally shoot more pressure down the line then you intend. You can get clear line that is thicker for gas applications and have the best of both worlds.

i use 3/16x1/16 wall food/dairy pvc from mcmaster for everything.

I took a look at the link on morebeer and I can't see anywhere where it states the wall thickness. The picture appears to be thick walled but who knows if it's a picture of the actual product. Confused.....

Does anyone else use 3/16" for their entire system. It kind of makes sense to me. The resistance of the smaller diameter gas line wouldn't really matter would it? The way I see it there wouldn't even be that much more resistance as it's a gas.
