Hello all, I am planning on brewing an extract American wheat and the lhbs told me I could use some white wheat and carapils in the brew if I was so inclined. I thought why not. Well now I'm getting ready to brew today or tomorrow and I can't find an answer through searching on what I need to do to utilize these ingredients. Do I mash or steep and what temps and for how long? Thanks

I'm going to assume that they meant you to steep them. All ya gotta do is crush them (ziplock bag with a beer bottle when I'm in a pinch), throw them in a muslin bag/paint strainer/mesh bag, and set them in some water for about 30 minutes at around 150-155...don't let the temperature go over 170 though.

Good Luck!

Thanks. I thought the lhbs guy said steep them but then when I started searching I just got confused.
