Yuri is dead right on that one. P/S is amazing.

Kind bud, Captain, tequila, good 12yr scotch, 7/7

All the references to that famously illegal substance that many of us know and love have made me smile :D I wasnt even thinking of it when I entitled this thread with the word "intoxicant". But Mary Jane is definitely a valid "other" choice in this poll.

Apparently you and I have very similar tastes - fries and malt vinegar with dinner, a bit of COLD Private Stock afterward. Perhaps a hand rolled Sancho Panza to top it off?

Definitely bourbon. Hooked on Bookers and Woodford Reserve of late...but I've been known to dabble with Jim Beam (in memory of GG Allin).

A distant third is wine and absinthe.

OK, now I'm hungry, thirsty, and want a stogie.:rockin:

Your talk of the faithful squire reminds me of my resolve to read Don Quixote in Spanish by the end of 2007. I'm not making much headway.

But I assume you were actually referring to the cigar. I haven't had one. The Double Maduro appeals to me the most. Have you had that one? How did you like it?

A friend of mine is a cigar afficonado, so I just go with whatever he's got at the moment. He refers to Sancho Panzas as his "daily smoke" - presumably because of the quality/price comparison. I'm fairly certain that the ones he's given me are the basic natural wrapper variety in a medium gauge (not the torpedo style). The other brand we've enjoyed recently is Cohiba (Toro, I believe). I'm not enough of a cigar guy to give you the specifics, but both are dense and rich, and they offer a moderately long smoke.

When I drink liquor (which is rare), I like vodka tonics. I can't stand tequila and whiskey and unless I'm in the Caribbean or some place like that, vodka tonics and maybe the ocassional white russian are the only drinks for me.

Do you know how many Canadians just spun in their graves?!? OMG, how could you?

Yeah, let me explain. When I was working in Honduras in the early 90s, we drank a lot of crown, but for some reason the ice cubes gave it a nasty taste, so someone poured in some Mt. Dew one night and we were all hooked. The Mt. Dew hid the bad ice taste. We called them "Hon-dews".

So yes, redneck highball is right but I still drink it that way. Try it, I think you'd be surprised.

I put them together because they are both made from the agave/maguey plant.

Alright... fair enough. I'll select that option. Vodka is a close second place, though. It depends on if I'm taking shots (tequila) or making mixers (wodka; greyhounds and white russians)

You should have made this multiple options.

How can I make this decision? I voted bourbon, but there are times when I crave dirty martinis. And times when I want a glass of wine more than anything else. On my honeymoon, I drank naught but pina coladas and other girly drinks. And sometimes -- not often, but sometimes -- I like the idea of a chick with a horse.

Beer or nothing!

Okay, I'll have the occasional glass of wine, margarita with Tex-Mex and eggnog or spiced cider during the holidays. But I can count those times on one hand.

Dammit, that's right, it was Banky. Sounded like something that Randall would say, as well (although his preference seemed to be for hermaphrodites).

Randall wasn't in Mallrats. He was in Clerks. Brodie was in Mallrats. Get your NJ Trilogy characters in order!

Sadly, the "dirt mall" was torn down years ago. :(

Yeah, it is difficult to make only one choice but I wanted to get an idea of the one type of drink that people perferred next to beer. Looks like Bourbon will be the winner in the end.

Chocolate!

I drank a lot of rum & cokes in the Navy, then switched to red wines (zins, pinots and merlots) in my 30's. But, it's been beer & chocolate for the last 15 years.

Can you promise me that it's as good as that Mt. Dew beer you gave me in October?

Nothing like passing a bottle of JD around the campfire until everyone passes out or decides to go swimming in the creek!
