What exactly does "Put in at 0 minutes" mean?

As far as hop scheduling, you will see recipes say "put in at 0 min"

Maybe this is a stupid question but...What exactly does this mean? I know it means throw them in at flameoff but how long do you leave them in? Do you put them in and leave them in the wort until its cooled, then remove right before dumping into the fermenter or do you leave them in the fermenter as like you would if you're dry hopping?
 
wouldn't you just toss em and leave em? maybe? I dunno just guessing.
 
Put them in and turn heat off. Leave until wort reaches pitching temp. Filter out hops while pouring into fermentor or just leave them in there. Leaving them in there will not impart any more noticeable flavors to the beer and many people leave them in there for the duration of fermentation. The will settle out quite nicely with the rest of the trub.
 
It depends on if you just toss em in or use hop bags or a hop spider. Toss em in then leave em in IMO. bags, I leave in until the wort is drained if possible. Never used a spider
 
Leave in while wert cools. Filter out along with everything else before putting in fermenter. Yes, it will only spend 10-30 mins in contract with the brew.
 
We add ours at flame out if pellets. If leaf we use a Hop Rocket (Nothern Brewer). If pellets, we leave for about 10 minutes. We realy like the flavor that the leaf hops this way. We were able to make a "wet" hop last August that was the best we ever did with the Hop Rocket
 
I add the hops at flameout, let them hot steep without flame for 10-20 mins before cooling, and then let them stay in the wort throughout the cooling process.

I use the steeping time to perform cleanup or sanitization duties so it's not extra time in my brew day.
