Just resigned from a 10 year job as controller for a 90mm transportation company.

Last 3 years work 80 hours per week.

Tax season for 2 months is 100+ per week.

My wife and I have worked together for 11 years - pulled the plug to work with her full time.

She's a very nice girl :)

We'll be fine.

i have a duel business, my main one is repairing houses for real estate agencys to get ready for resale, the other is a handyman service. referrals only.

Software engineer currently working for a research institute. I've worked on everything from pharmacy systems, medical devices, oil & gas data visualization systems, uninsured patient identification systems, and clinical decision support systems.

Oh, and I began a computer science PhD about a year ago...

I'm a marine mammal trainer. I train and take care of dolphins, sea lions and seals. It's a really kick ass job but not as glamorous as people think it is. The 15 minutes you see me on stage is only about 5% of my day. The other 95% of the day is filled with cleaning everything from the pools to kitchens. I still love every minute of it and wouldn't want to do anything else with my life; if only the pay was better.

I'm a firefighter of the wildland variety. I work for the good ole US Forest Circus, err I mean the Forest Service.

It keep sme traveling around, thats for sure. Coast to coast, border to border.

I am a physician specializing in Nephrology-diseases of the kidneys. I like to think I take care of the organ that is ultimately responsible for taking care of our homebrews.

I'm a Neurologist - a physician specializing in diseases of the brain. The organ I take care of gets to have all the fun from our homebrewing.

I currently am on the management team of a Huge Chain Pizza Restaurant.

I spent many years in Broadcast News/Promotion and then post 9/11 - at Apple Computer doing sales, support and training.

I Burnt out.

Thought that running a restaurant might be fun, and these guys wanted to teach me... so, I have been doing it for a year.
Running a restaurant is stressful and not at all glamorous. However, I cannot deny the educational value. I have learned how to fire people effectively, how to deal with INS issues and how to deal with missing children, missing adults, drug use, prank fire alarm pulls and robberies.

I am looking to find something to make me happy again, but now that SWMBO's former employer blew out huge chunks of their US division - I am the sole income source.

Dreams on hold again.
Wage slave mode activated.

waiting patiently for brew day.

I am a plumbing contractor in socal. Own a small family run business, nothing big. I work out of my home. We do everything from residential service and repair, drain/sewer work, to comercial, and light industrial.

Underground mine geologist in Alaska, work one week on (out in a remote camp) one week off. The rotation is actually pretty good for brewing. Just finished my master's in volcanology, and now some friends and I are tossing around the idea of opening a brewpub.

Test technician in Madison WI. BORING!!!!! After the hops and props this weekend I am seriously considering a change in careers. Wasting my life doing something I dislike.

Firefighter/Paramedic for 9 years professionally, for a DC-metro county of about 1,000,000 people.

Corporate and transactional attorney - I help companies get up and running, help them sell stock, acquire other companies, do random business deals, etc. I also do trademark work, financial modeling and intellectual property licensing. It's fun because my clients are generally pretty amazing entrepreneurs and the goal is to get deals done quickly in a mutually beneficial manner. It's not to argue, stall, obfuscate, etc - like what you would expect based on lawyer tv shows. Too much stress though . . so things like woodworking and beer are nice obsessions to have to keep me balanced.

City Forester. Spent the first 18 years of my life in SW Wisconsin, in the Kickapoo River Valley. Went to college at UW - Stevens Point. Now I am in Indiana.
