Got this idea from @passedpawn, thought I would share here as well. So much more organized and easy to find the spices i'm looking for!

And for my christmas dinner I wanted to make ribs, but they didn't have any (or any similar cut), so I went with a beef rib-steak. Put together a dry-rub (brown sugar, paprika, minced onion, granulated garlic, cumin powder, celery salt, sea salt, black pepper, chili powder and ground chipotle) and chilled for 24 hours. Baked @ 180ºF for 3 hours, then slathered some homemade BBQ sauce (Breakfast stout BBQ with added pineapple and chocolate habanero) and broiled for 5 minutes. Perfection, and my, was this yummy!

Overnight cinnamon rolls for the start of our day and pie number three... Mixed berry

I do much want to make sinammon rolls someday. I almost added that to the stuff I did for Christmas Brunch. Never tried them but would love to.

Those look great. Please post pic when the come out of the oven. And before the go in if you don't mind!

Didn't think to take pics but last night was cracked fresh Dungeness crab with cocktail sauce, steamed artichokes with drawn butter, lots of yummy garlic bread, champagne, butterscotch chip cookies and peanut butter chocolate fudge.

Tonight was Dijon/crushed pecan crusted rack of lamb, roasted sweet potato, another artichoke with drawn butter, and later, pecan pie with whipped cream, oh yeah finished up the champagne too!

"Island Pork" After marinating and crock pot cooking, I strained and refrigerated the meat. The fat congealed on top of a layer of flavorings and that was on top of a congealed layer of aspic-like gelatinized pork juices. I put some canola oil in a saute pan and fried a few of the pork pieces to test out my method...which is kind of like doing Adobo from the Phillipines. After browning the meat with a little salt and pepper, I fried a tad of the West Indian Hot Sauce and then tossed the meat in it. Likewise, I fried a little Green Seasoning and then toseed the pan again. I removed the meat and that was it. I'm definitely going to serve the big batch with rice and black beans. I let my 12 year old daughter try the meat...and I lost posession of my snack. Dang.

Ham steak with fried cinnamon apples, baby yukon gold taters, peas & carrots, salad (kale, chard, mustard greens, turnip greens & tomatoes) with blue cheese dressing. Washed it all down with an altbairisch dunkel. Not too fancy, but tasty.

Cooking down the turkey carcass from Christmas dinner with some bullion for soup stock. Gunna small dice potatoes, onions, celery & turkey to put in that once it's strained. I also have gelatinized juices in a bowl in the fridge to heat, strain & add to that as well. Maybe toss in some rice?

Or perhaps a handful or two of egg noodles? (I've seen your hands from your pics, 1 or 2 full should do it ;) ;) ;) )

OMG!, the carcass with bullion was driving me nuts as it started simmering. It did smell so of roasted turkey. Got the potatoes, onion petals & celery cooking down now. The meat jelly from the roasting pan & the stock strained before adding the veggies. Damn, The aroma is driving me nuts, like our dogs smellin' BBQ! When the veggies are done, I'll chop the meat I cut off the carcase & add to the soup with the seasonings. And I do happen to have egg noodles handy, so creamy, you win on that one! It smells so good, my stomach hurts! I'll get a pick of a bowl in a little while. Gonna be a very chunky soup! Damn! Can you smell that smell?!:rockin:

Cooked our turkey carcass and plan to make creamy turkey and rice soup. Froze the stock because we had so much food from the holidays.

Made another pumpkin and pecan pie yesterday to take to a family gathering. Pretty good stuff! Not sure I like it at well with the whiskey butter sauce though.

The Lasagna came out of the oven late last night. Now it's in the fridge and will be reheated tonight for dinner with family. View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1419873869.737622.jpg
Other than the sauce I posted earlier the fillings include browned bulk Italian sausage, crimini mushrooms sautéed with garlic, zucchini sautéed with garlic, ricotta, Parmesan, and mozzarella! I hope this turns out as good as it sounds!!

I'm having trouble with Lexmark software so I can't upload pic of the chunky soup yet. I'll get it when this darn thing decides to work...

Leftover turkey white meat on homemade (not very good) sourdough last night. So yeah, took the night off.

Need to come up with an interesting appetizer to make for our friends on NYE. Something easy to make there, or something that I can make tonight and reheat tomorrow after work.

Stuff whole dates with blue cheese and wrap in bacon. Throw in the oven until crisp.

Dates and Bleu Cheese are both on my "Only eat in a survival situation" list.

So that leaves bacon, which I had actually considered as a snack...

I like where @Melana is going with that, but substitute Olives for dates, and Goat cheese for blue cheese! (Though the blue would probably still be ok).

Homer, just eating cooked pieces of bacon as a snack? I don't see how you can go wrong with that.

Saute a lot of sliced garlic in olive oil, then add some tomatoes. I use whole canned that I chop up. Let cook for 15-20 minutes. Throw in some fresh chopped basil and cover with slices of goat cheese. Heat it up until the goat cheese is melted. Serve over sliced, toasted baguettes. YUM.

@Homercidal I have a question in the yeast/fermentation forum that I am impatient about (and need to reup my membership tomorrow when I get paid.)

Can I ask my evil twin to give it a quick looksee?
