2 oz - SPECIAL B

2.5oz - CRYSTAL 60

Hops:

.75oz - EAST KENT GOLDINGS

1.25oz - PREMIANT

3oz - French Oak chips

Yeast:

wlp001

Thanks in advance! :mug:

What do you want to make?? You have the beginnings of a ton of styles: porter, american wheat, pale ale, and saison just to name a few.

All else goes as far as the quantities I listed for the other malts? I'll have to plug them into beersmith and see what I get. How would you use the hops?

Plug it in with everything else and see what SRM you get. Maybe keep the roasted barley separate and add it when you sparge, just for color.

As for the hops in a Abbey ale, you are looking for low bitterness. I'd put the EKG for 60 min, and then enough of the Premient (not familiar with them) to reach the IBUs you are shooting for. Just the one addition at 60.

I'm open to anything really and love all styles. This thread was meant to be an open basket of sorts, what would you brew if you were given such ingredients? That being said, what would you brew saltymirv?

If it were me, I'd use the 3711 and make a saison. Use all the grains except the roasted barley and brown malt. Use up both the hops you have and even the oak chips too. You don't even have to go to the brew store

All of those grains together would basically give you a lighter coloured kitchen sink brown porter. Use some of your Premiant for bittering and your EKG @ 15. Mash high, add your preferred yeast and badda boom badda bing.

Really considering this. Thank you mirv!

Alright, so far we got an Abey ale, saison on oak and a porter. All sound great.

What else you got HBT?

I was thinking Saison after seeing the grain without the yeast. As above, leave out the brown and RB. I really like a little smidge of SpecB in my Saison.
