The mountain pass I travelled thru last week has the highest mountain in New England (Mt Washington 6300' elev) They had a marathon planned to the top and a forecast of snow and 80mph winds. A gentleman passed away that weekend trying to hike one of the summits in the extreme weather.

There's a big high pressure literally pushing the hot weather backwards off the ocean keeping us cool down below. We're short on rain but NY is getting it's share.
